Watching women running around and tackling each other? Not quite female mud wrestling though.
When the opposing team has the ball, women’s teams don’t close down their opponents nearly as quickly and physically as the men, so players have a lot more space and time on the ball, which actually makes for more opportunity to display skills, and more goals. And the defending and goalkeeping is often dreadful, which also makes for more goals.
It’s a numbers game isn’t it – from any pool of participants in any activity, only a small percentage can reach a very high level of skill and performance. As far fewer women play football than men, the number who reach a high level of skill and performance is also much smaller.
