Schedule For Week Of 4 August 2008

Despite a couple of withdrawals, we have been oversubscribed this week, so next week, we’re up to 4 sessions, as follows:
- Monday, 4 August 2008, 9 to 10 pm, The Cage (Kallang), Pitch 3.
- Tuesday, 5 August 2008, 9 to 10 pm, The Pitch (Bukit Timah).
- Wednesday, 6 August 2008, 9 to 10 pm, The Cage (Kallang), Pitch 1.
- Thursday, 7 August 2008, 9 to 10 pm, Futsal @ East Coast.
A couple of regulars are away, but hopefully, others are back from being away or injury. Minimum 10 for each session. Confirmations by the end of tomorrow please.

Next Tuesday for me, please. I have also been given permission (by the wife) to indulge in a second session, so a scenario of Mondays @ BTC and Thursdays @ The Pitch would be fantastic.

Well Tom, if there are sufficient numbers for a second session in the Bukit Timah area, it’s just a matter of booking (if available) and putting it out on that week’s schedule. Until then, you can always play at The Cage on Wednesday.

If you would like to play, just confirm. If any session becomes oversubscribed, and one of the first 12 to confirm is playing more sessions than the others in that week, I’ll first ask the the person concerned whether they’d like to give up their place in that session.

Confirmed so far: Boon Yick, me (2). Minimum 8 more. If we don’t have enough confirmations by Wednesday, this session will be cancelled.
I forgot to do the “captain” thing last week, and in truth, the captain doesn’t have to do much, but one more thing the captains can do is agree to swap players if they feel that the sides are too uneven.

The futsal ball is still with Bret from last Thursday. Again, I’ve already paid for the pitch as part of the block booking at The Cage, so the same as last Thursday. Bret, I’ll see you at the Wednesday session.

Again, be there by 8.50 pm and use any waiting time to warm up.

@Sushil: This “3 times a week” schedule that you’re subjecting yourself to is really not “on”.
@Rajiv: Is Mark C the same as Marc from The Pitch last week? If so, then Joe can be crap and it will still be a tight game.

Tom, Mark C is another Mark, who used to play regularly on Sunday mornings. He played the last time you played at Bukit Timah campus – the session you wrote “Twelve Eager Men” for. The words “memory” and “sieve” come to mind again.
Joe, don’t take anything Tom says too seriously, he’s not as bad as his brother, Raj. Actually, sometimes, I don’t know who is worse.

It was 5 v 5 last night as Shankar was unwell and had a fever, while Sze Kuan was held up at work.

Not to confuse things more than it may already be, Joe did not play yesterday. He had something come up, but sent his brother in law Bobby who is also keen to start playing with us.

Thinking Look Liew wanted to play, I SMSed a few who prefer playing in the Bukit Timah area to see if we could get one more player. We got two instead – Sze Kuan and Swee Hoe. I spoke to Look Liew and he is happy to remain in reserve, so the final line ups for tonight at the Premier Pitch are as follows:

(f) work ethic
(g) dibbling
Answer 1-5, with 1 meaning “so bad, he makes me look good”, with 2 meaning “a little worse than me”, 3 meaning “as good (or bad) as I am”, 4 meaning “I’d prefer to be on his side” and 5 meaning “I am proud to call him my friend”. No change to tonight’s line ups. We’re full for tonight, so anyone else confirming can only be on reserve.
Only Boon Yick and I are confirmed for tomorrow (9 to 10 pm at Sports Planet @ East Coast). I would ordinarily have cancelled, but Look Liew has informed me that his group is playing there from 8 to 9 pm and on the waiting list for a 9 to 10 pm slot, so I’ll give him our slot, and up to 3 or 4 of us can join them from 8 to 10 pm.
So anyone else who wants to play tomorrow night from 8 to 10 pm at Sports Planet @ East Coast, please confirm below as usual.

Look Liew only has 7 tomorrow night, plus Sze Kuan, Boon Yick and me to make 10, so we’ll only play from 8 to 9 pm (9 to 10 pm is cancelled).
Look Liew may be able to get one more, so we only have place for 1 more.
