Whatever the justification for imposing a transfer ban on English clubs or suspending their players, I remain of the view that FIFA and UEFA are a bunch of clowns.

Moving away from the more serious stuff:

  • After 4 clubs and 13 managers, James Milner has never started and ended a season under the same manager.  Milner has played a record 46 times for England’s under-21s before making his debut for the senior side against the Netherlands last month.
  • John Terry becomes the highest paid player in England.

The transfer window closed on Tuesday.  Although Harry Redknapp managed to bring another Portsmouth player to Tottenham Hotspur in Niko Kranjcar, he missed out on two interesting swap deals, including one for Portsmouth’s David James:

    I’ll skip a separate “Eye-Catcher” post today. However, this caught my eye:

    Manchester United defender Patrice Evra … would … like to do a television comedy with team-mate Park Ji-Sung [when he quits football].

    Perhaps the pair should start now. More here.
